Our Student Present at the Academic Seminar on "Social Work and Social Governance Modernization in the New Stage of Chinese Path to Modernization"

From December 8 to 10, 2023, the 2023 annual meeting of China Association for Social Work Education and the academic seminar on "Social Work and Social Governance Modernization in the New Stage of Chinese Path to Modernization" was held at Henan Normal University in Xinxiang, Henan Province. The event focuses on core topics in the field of social work, including the high-quality development of social work and modernization of social governance, research on social work's involvement in grassroots social governance, theory and practice of social work, research on social work intervention and social work database construction, and digital transformation and practice of social work, etc.


This academic seminar includes one conference forum, two independent forums, four specialized committee forums and 18 sub-forums. More than 1000 people attended the meeting, including the relevant experts, scholars, teachers and students from well-known domestic universities such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, Beijing Normal University, Fudan University, Renmin University of China, etc.


Lin Junwei, a MSW who enrolled at SDDPP in 2022, participated in the event and addressed the forum of the Professional Committee on Social Work Theory, titled "Different Routes for the Same Goal: Configuration Analysis of Sustainable Development of Social Work Institutions from an Open-system Perspective". Starting from the open system theory, this study focuses on the factors and configurations that affect the sustainable development of social work institutions, and analyzes social work institutions' dynamic characteristics of taking different routes for the same goal of sustainable development, providing feasible paths for the sustainable development of social work institutions and various types of charitable entities. The research has received recognition from attending experts and scholars. The participants exchanged ideas on problem awareness, theoretical dialogue and key issues involved in the research, providing important guidance for further study.
